Seattle wants to bring back Big Red Bryant
The Seattle Seahawks have a few players on their team that like last year with the Brandon Mebane signing are integral parts of their off season puzzle.
Red Bryant the monster defensive end is one of those puzzle pieces that cannot under any circumstances be allowed to leave via free agency.
We are hearing this week that the Seahawks might want to lock up Big Red before he becomes a free agent, because there is likely to be quite a bit of interest in him if he is on the open market.
When the Seahawks drafted Bryant, they were playing a 4-3 defense and he played tackle. But Pete Carroll and John Schneider knew he was a better fit as a 4-3 end.
Now that the Seahawks are playing a "the Carroll 4-3", Bryant is in his element.
He had an outstanding season and still could be improving.
He would have been in Hawaii in my opinion, but we all know DE's only make it based on their sack numbers, and well, Red isn't a sack man. He's a run stuffer.
All I can say is I hope we hear soon that ink meets paper and Red is a Seahawks DE for another 3-5 years.
