Are you comfortable with Pete Carroll running the show?

We've seen this time and time again where a coach will be given certain authority over how the roster is constructed. Either the owner gives that coach the full on authority as the GM, or in the case of Pete Carroll, he gets the title VP of player personnel and has full autonomy of free agent signings and final say of the active roster. In most cases it never works. For every Bill belichek, there is a Jon Gruden, Bill Parcells, and Mike Holmgren that didn't necessarily find success. With the success Carroll has had constructing the defense, he has been irresponsible with the offense. Moving forward, are you comfortable with the offense in the hands of Pete Carroll?

I have zero problems with it. THe combo of him and Schneider need to be given a chance. The owner wanted them, I can live with it. They've already drafted more starters in 1 year than Ruskell did in 5 so I'm ok w/ that too.

As for Pete's coaching decisions, well, I speculate he's a bit of roll the dice kind of coach. he's got confidence in his team, and I can't complain w/ that.

Its wonderful to second guess a coach though isn't it? I do it all the time. lol

I feel like "irresponsible" maybe a bit to harsh. I think they have done a very stellar job on the defensive side of things. That being said though, I've never been a fan of coaches having the authority of GM's duties. It rarely works out. Coaches coach, and front office people need to do exactly that..

I like him a lot. He brought a 5-11 team to the playoffs, won a game and is building one of the best defenses in the NFL. Not only that, but he's made the team YEARS younger which will last for many seasons. Our record isn't great, true, but he really has turned this team around. It's only a matter of time before they start mentioning Seattle for playoff contention

Not really simply because former college coaches usually don't fare well when they move up into the NFL ranks. Why couldn't the Hawks have made a move to reunite Carroll with Carson Palmer?
