Beware Thy Neighbor! Week 7 NFC West Matchups + Previews

SEAHAWKS vs. 49ERS (THUR OCT 18 8:20 PM ET)

The Seahawks (4-2) are coming off a big home win over the Patriots and there is now a 3-way tie in the NFC West with Seattle, San Francisco, and Arizona. The 49ers are coming off a very disappointing home loss to the Giants where they only scored 3 points, their rushing offense and defense struggled, and QB Alex Smith was picked off 3 times.

Frank Gore has to get on track and help Smith out. And for his part Smith has to be more careful with the rock and find his targets, which he has many of. However, these things will be very difficult facing a confident Seattle defense that ranks 13th against the pass and 2ndagainst the run.

Seattle came up with several turnovers in their last game and QB Russell Wilson had his best game as a rookie with 293 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT. That is even more impressive since the Seahawks do not have a great WR corps. While Seattle won last week Marshawn Lynch struggled.

I have to go with the 49ers, as I think they will play to their strengths, which is running the ball and playing solid defense and unlike last week Smith will not make mistakes.
