NFC West matchup: SEAHAWKS vs. RAMS (Sun Sept 30 1 PM ET)
The Seahawks are coming off their controversial win over the Packers at Monday night and they are tied at 2-1 with the 49ers 1 game back of the surprising Cardinals. It is no surprise that the Rams are at the bottom of the division at 1-2, but at least they are home in this NFC match up.
The Rams are coming off a weak offensive performance where they only scored 6 points against the Rams and that is not good facing a solid Seahawks’ defense that held the Packers to 12 points on Monday night.
Seattle QB Russell Wilson has not put up huge numbers, but he has been a good game manager and will be facing a Rams’ pass defense that only ranks 16th in the league.
The key for the Rams’ defense in this game is their run D, which ranks 20th in the league, as they have a tall task trying to contain Marshawn Lynch, who rushed for 98 yards in his last game.
The Seattle D ranks 10th against the pass and 2nd against the run and they face a struggling Rams’ offense. On top of that the Seattle pass rush has 10 sacks in 3 games. Sam Bradford was sacked 6 times last week and his banged up offensive line may be in for a long game.
Bradford has the league’s 2nd leading WR in Danny Amendola, the St. Louis Rams offensive line is struggling, Steven Jackson is injured and only rushed for 29 yards on 11 carries in the loss to the Bears.
Not hard to pick the winner in this one, as even in St. Louis I think the Seattle D will carry the Seahawks to a win.
