Mike Sando made the following quote in his article:
My notes from 2001 included this quote from then-coach Mike Holmgren after Hasselbeck completed 9 of 24 passes during a defeat to Philadelphia: "We hit rock bottom a little bit yesterday and now you get knocked down and you get up and we’ll be better and we’ll continue to get better and I haven’t lost confidence in him one little bit, and neither have his teammates, and he hasn’t lost confidence in his ability to play, either." (underline is mine)
I think that Mike Holmgren's comments says it all. Hasselback may have had a rough outing once or twice, but Holmgren and the rest of the team had confidence in him. I am not so sure the present situation is the same for Whitehurst. I believe Pete Carrol and the team are floating along, trying to keep their head above water, until Tarvaris Jackson is ready to take the helm.
Its scary though when T-Jack is the saving grace for the Seahawks 2011 season. If he's out again this week should Portis get a look? I ifigure what the hell. But Pete says he's not ready, so I have to keep my faith in Pete too. Its only right. I do my best to not 2nd guess the coach. UNLESS ITS A 60+ YARD FG
Give Portis a shot, definitely. NOTHING can be worse than Charlie last weekend. How do you miss open receivers?!
If nothing, you have ex-QBs on the roster like Michael Robinson who led Penn State to a Big 12 Title on the way to being Big 12 POY.
My point being, ANYTHING is better than the crap Charlie puts on the field. Waste of 20 draft spots and $5mil/yr.
They certainly show confidence in him through his paycheck. I think that the QB pool is very thin and Charlie is about as good as they can get. It really is too bad the hawks didn't play worse last year to have a shot at Locker.
Charlie has looked good, and he has looked like crap ( i.e. last sunday) you gotta trust couch on this, portis is even fresher yet, probly not the answer, the answer is suited up somewhere else right now. If the colts get 'Luck" than maybe Peyton Manning will go to market. ( I doubt it) or some other vet. Knowing our luck it will be Donavin Mcnabb Lol. jk.
