WE all know he's hard up for cash. So why wouldn't Terrell Owens want one more year in the NFL? Makes perfect sense to me.
Word tonight from KJR's Softy Mahler is that the man is on his way to Seattle for a tryout.
Details will follow when we know more.
Owens last played in the NFL in 2010/11 for the Cincinnati Bengals. In that year he played in 14 games, had 72 receptions, 983 yards and 9 TD's.
IF Owens were offered a tryout contract it makes a little sense. Pete Carroll and John Schneider just released Antonio Bryant, and they obviously feel the need for another BIG wideout, capable of making BIG plays. (If he has any left in him is the big ?)
Oft injured Sidney Rice, Doug Baldwin, and Golden Tate appear to be "safe" for a roster spot in 2012, but beyond that it seems the remaining 3-4 spots are WIDE open.
For now here's the tweet causing the stir.— Dave Softy Mahler (@Softykjr) August 6, 2012
#NFL League source told me tonight that WR Terrell Owens is on his way to Seattle to visit with the#Seahawks. No word on tryout/contract
Again, dont know in what capacity T.O. will be visiting Hawks. Dont know if he's coming to chat/tryout/sign.
