However, their most disruptive defensive player could be on the cusp of a holdout and that isn’t good news.

Defensive end Chris Clemons has flourished under head coach Pete Carroll and his staff since joining the team two seasons ago, racking up 11.0 sacks in each of those seasons. Last year was his best in the NFL as Clemons had 51 tackles, including 34 solo, while forcing three fumbles and five passes-defensed and five stuffs. Now, he wants to be paid like an upper-echelon player as Clemons didn’t show up for any OTAs and there has been no dialogue between the end and the team. Those that use betting software should be getting used to seeing this happen as players are seemingly holding out every summer, realizing that they have a short shelf life and can be cut as quickly as they can be handed a new contract. The Seahawks are hopeful that not only will Clemons show up at training camp, but that he’ll use his feelings towards the situation against the opposition, which would be great for their online football betting odds.

However, will Clemons show up? He wants to be paid like Miami’s Cameron Wake, who received a $34.53 million deal over five years in May, with $17 million in guaranteed money and a $7 million signing bonus. Wake is the same age as Clemons at 30, and he had 8.5 sacks with 42 tackles (37 solo) and three passes-defensed, and no forced fumbles. Clemons may have an argument that he should be paid as well as Wake, if not better, and the Seattle brass must be seething at Miami’s front office right now for making a move that will inadvertenly affect their sports book odds.

Another thing Clemons is reportedly upset about is the drafting of Bruce Irvin, who can play end or rush linebacker and he probably feels as though the team was looking to pick up his replacement, although he should realize that this makes his job easier. Irvin was a monster at the combine and the Seattle staff have high hopes for him. If he pans out, that means Clemons will receive less single-blocking schemes and could put up even bigger numbers, but his feelings about this now is likely the result of the overall situation.

One thing is for sure: Seattle has to come to terms with their star defensive end now, or you will see their online NFL betting odds plummet.
