The Seahawks have landed Myles Wade as a UDFA

We're hearing from Aaron Wilson of Scout.com and @RavensInsider twitter account tonight that the Seahawks have landed Myles Wade to a free agent contract.

    Position: DT
    Height: 6-1
    Weight: 300
    Class: Graduate Student
    Hometown: Portland, OR
    High School: Central Catholic

Wade is a former Texas Tech recruit. He recently worked out at the NFL super regional combine.

Has 5.05 speed, and did 42 reps of 225 pounds.

We'd originally heard a short while ago from a twitter account (unconfirmed) @Bhenry54 that Wade was invited to camp with the Seahawks.

Quick s/o to Myles Wade... He got invited to mini camp for the Seattle Seahawks!!!!!
    The tweet read.

Judging by the back story on Wade, if this kid makes the Seahawks roster one day it will be every bit as jaw dropping as 1st round picks Bruce Irvin's story.

Wade was an all american in 2007 before loosing his eligibility and having to grind his way through Junior College.

He received offers from Oregon, Nebraska and Washington.

Academic failure kept him out of Oregon, off to Arizona Junior College, his mother battled brain-cancer, and passed away.

He took 2008 off, went to Texas Tech, played 10 games, earned a degree, back to Portland to be with family.

    Then to Portland State.

Wade helped bring PSU's run defense from one of the worst in the FCS to one of the best (19th).

Myles Wade was initially going to go to the Seahawks, but the Buccaneers showed more interest through GM Mark Dominik, DL coach.

This one stings. I can see him playing in the league in 2012.
