Rookie free agent signings by the Seahawks
Per the Seattle Seahawks this afternoon. The team has announced they have agreed to terms with the following TEN rookie free agents:
Phil Bates (Ohio), London Durham (McNeese St), Rishaw Johnson (Cal), Jermaine Kearse (Washington), Sean McGrath (Henderson St), Jon Opperud (Montana), DeShawn Shead (Portland St.), Monte Taylor (Cincinnati), Lavasier Tuinei (Oregon) and Carson Wiggs (Purdue).
Always a fun time post-draft is to look at the UDFA's as they're called to see who the team wants to get a look at.
Remember this name from 2011 Seahawks fans. Doug Baldwin. He was on this list. A future Seahawks star could be in the ten previous names just mentioned.
Last year, out of 19 UDFA signees, Josh Portis, Jeron Johnson, Richardo Lockette, Ron Parker, and the afore mentioned Doug Baldwin all made the team.

A former walkon who not only earned a scholarship, but also became a starter for the Tigers at fullback ... Played in 34 games with 14 starts ... A ferocious blocker who helped pave the way for one of the most successful rushing offenses in school history in 2011 ... Thought to be among the hardest hitters on the team as he broke over 30 of his own face masks and one helmet in collisions in practice or games during his career ... Scored the only touchdown of his career on a 1-yard run against Ole Miss in 2011 ... Only touched the ball three times during his career, all coming on the goalline against Ole Miss in 2011 ... Graduated in December of 2011 with a degree in psychology.

Per NationalFootballPost.com
A 6th year senior who missed final three quarters of the 2010 season with a lower extremity injury and has also had shoulder problems as well. Is a thickly built kid who struggles to keep his pad level down off the ball and lacks the range to play on the outside in the NFL. Started at right tackle for Miami in 2010, but his body type and overall skill set makes me think he's better suited to play as a guard. Doesn't have the athleticism needed to reach speed off the edge and plays too high to consistently re-direct and mirror in space.
