Robert Turbin of Utah State the newest Seahawks running back

With the 11th pick in the 4th round and 106th pick overall the Seattle Seahawks select RB Robert Turbin of Utah State.

Turbin is a 222lb back. He splits time with Michael Smith in Utah. He's got some patience to his game, and he sets blocks up pretty well too judging by the video I've seen on him.

He's faster than people give him credit for. He's another warm able body for the Seattle Seahawks offense to play with.

He was the WAC player of the year last season, when he ran for 1,517 yards and set school single-season records for rushing TDs (19) and total TDs (23).

    Here's what we know.

    PER ESPN

"Below average height but possesses a thick frame and built low to the ground. Above average top-end speed, especially considering bulk. "
Runs with adequate determination and shows good finish with his carries. Does not duck out of bound and looks to turn it up field to pick up extra yardage near the sideline. Doesn't always keep feet churning upon contact to consistently pick up hidden yardage. Can do a better job with ball carriage and will let ball get away from frame when making a cut.

    Fifth: 19th, 154th
    Sixth: 2nd, 172nd

    Per ESPN

What he brings: Turbin's a bigger back with good vision, power and nimble feet, especially for a guy his size. While he's not going to contribute much on third downs, he can develop into an excellent reserve and short-yardage back.

How he fits: He should be a nice complement to Marshawn Lynch, and has a similar skill set. Pete Carroll wants to establish a strong run game, and Turbin can spell Lynch from time to time and take some carries between the tackles.
