Seahawks cut Gallery loose sign McQuistan

With Steve Hutchinson in town it was only a matter of time before Robert Gallery was shown the door. I called this earlier this afternoon on twitter. But nobody believed me as usual.

The Seahawks have decided to release veteran lineman Robert Gallery.

Gallery's agent posted news of his release on his Twitter account and noted his client played hurt all last season.

The Seahawks signed Gallery to a three-year, $15 million contract prior to last season.

The 31-year-old Gallery was the No. 2 overall draft pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2004.

In other news today the Seahawks have re-signed versatile OL Paul McQuistan, the team announced via their Twitter account.

McQuistan started 10 games for Seattle in 2011 in a reserve role. McQuistan started three games at LG and RG each and four games at LT.

We have no official word on a Steve Hutchinson signing yet but I'd think its going to happen sooner rather than later.

I spoke with Robbie Tobeck (EX Seahawks center) on twitter today and he assures me Hutch still has a few good years left in him at 34.

Here's my post on Hutchinson being in Seattle.

More news coming soon I'm sure. Stay tuned 12th man.

This one shocked me...a little. Gallery was the only lineman who stayed healthy and played every game for us...I believe. Either way, he didnt do us too much good, so bye bye Gallery.

And I agree with re-signing McQuistan. Him and Giacomini stepped up BIG last season after the line got demolished by injury. This is their reward
