    Oliver Perez Signs With Seattle

Left-handed pitcher Oliver Perez, who won 15 games for the New York Mets in 2007, signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Wednesday.

Perez, 30, was invited to major-league spring training.

This past offseason, Perez pitched in relief for the Tomateros de Culiacan in the Mexican Winter League.

In 23 games, he was 0-2 with a 0.63 ERA, striking out 19 in 14-1/3 innings.

For his career, Perez is 58-69 with a 4.63 ERA for the Padres, Pirates and Mets.

Hey Seattle guess what. We've got another pitcher! And this one pitched for the Tomatoes last year! Great!

This is just wrong. We have too much talent on this team for this guy to come in and even try for a spot. If he makes it, I'll cheer for him, but i really don't see the point, Mariners
