The Diamondback signed outfielder Jason Kubel. This is a bummer to Mariner fans because Kubel's left handed power translates well to Safeco. Good protection in the lineup for Smoak and Carp would be another positive.

I was seriously hoping they would go after Kubel. Sitting and waiting did not help the M's one bit this year. Every hitter has been scooped up in the wait for Fielder
