Mariners rehire entire coahcing staff
So the Mariners released that they have hired back the entire coaching staff for 2012. I don't know about you, but I think I may have gone for a different hitting coach. With Mark McGuire sitting on the St. Louis bench as their hitting coach, it makes me think that the M's could use someone like that. Who would you hire as a hitting coach?

Well the easy choice and surely fan-fave would be Ken Griffy Jr. idk who else is available, but i'm sure we will here more about that in a few days after the seriese is done.

Jr. Was a special consultant this year focusing more on the development of minor league players, which may have better long term effects. I think Griffey wants to spend time with his family before he is on the road with a major league team at the moment, but who knows how much the draw would be for him.

Verry true, Ken seems like he is having fun with family and such. Maybe down the road a few years. I think It's an issue for sure. With Figgins and cust, ( both veterans) slumping, good hitting coach's tend to work with adjusting some things at the plate until the guy's get back to par. I didn,t see any noticeable adjustments to any of our many struggling hitters this season. off the top of my head these guys all had ""slumps""
SMOAK
CUST
FIGGINS
FRANKLIN GUTTI
ICHIRO
SAUNDERS
KENNEDY
BRENDAN RYAN
feel free to add to my list if I missed any.Or correct me if I added someone who wasn't exactly "slumping"
i didn't look at the numbers, I was just calling it as I saw it. So yea hitting coach needed bad.

It may be easier to list who wasn't in a slump.
