George Sherrill is out for the year for Mariners

We're hearing this morning from Eric Wedge that Seattle Mariners left hander bullpen guy George Sherrill will have surgery on elbow in early May and is "more than likely" done for the season.

We now know per Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times that left-handed relief pitcher George Sherrill would undergo Tommy John ligament transplant surgery on his left elbow.
