Per a report from the LA Times this morning we've learned Jamal Crawford, and Chauncey Billups will sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.
They will both sign when the NBA’s moratorium period is lifted for free agents to sign deals the article said.
Trail Blazers fans know all to well that Crawford an UFA opted out of his $5.2 million contract.
Most wondered where he'd end up. I myself figured the west coast somewhere due to his Seattle roots.
Per an NWSB Article on Crawford June 25th.
He is expected to sign a three-year, $15.7 million contract, according to the source.Crawford has success with an uptempo offense and nothing screams that more than the new look Clippers, who with a full training camp are only bound to improve on last seasons numbers.
Crawford was the NBA's 6th man of the year in 2010 with the Atlanta Hawks, and last year in PDX he put up 13.9 ppg.
He has averaged 15.3 points over his 12-year career.
From beyond the arc in 2012 he shot 30.9% from 3-point range, over his career he has averaged 34.8%.
Just this week our own Blair Thomas wrote a post saying
Blair thought Billups could end up in Portland, while Crawford would not.Billups and Olshey have a relationship fostered during Billups shortened one-year tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers and as far as anyone can tell, the relationship was a positive one for both sides.
Last summer, I was excited to hear that Jamal Crawford was returning to the Northwest with the plan that he was going to team up with Brandon Roy as an 1-2 punch at the off guard spot to help lead the Trail Blazers deep into the playoff season.
Funny how things change.
