Yesterday the Portland TrailBlazers hired Neil Olshey as their newest GM. He twice interviewed for the position one of the times was last month, so there was mutual interest.
The hiring came on the heels of him reportedly signing an agreement with the LA Clippers.
We then heard via OregonLive that negotiations with the Clippers broke down and Paul Allen and Larry Miller swept in.
Olshey, 47, has been the Clippers vice president of basketball operations since March 2010.
We now know the man that will head the draft board in Portland for the 2012 NBA draft. They hold picks 6 and 11.
Yes RIP City Olney is the man who orchestrated the Clippers' trade for Chris Paul last year.“Neil is someone we’ve had on our radar for quite a while,” team president Larry Miller said in a statement issued by the team. “Over the past two seasons he has demonstrated success in constructing a roster, managing salary cap and evaluating player talent. We feel very fortunate to have him in Portland and are thrilled about what this means for the future.”
