The 2010 Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford chose in the offseason (right before the season started to go to RIP City and play for the Blazers because of, according to Crawford, the proximity to his hometown of Seattle.

Now what?

In my opinion I hope he comes back. He can be a leader on this team everyone knows that. If Seattle gets a team (from Sacramento though) you know he's going to be pounding at their door to let him in.

Some have the opinion though that Jamal is just a nice player, and isn't what the Blazers need right now.

  • He scored in double figures 39 times this season, including 16 games of 20 points or more.
  • He shot his lowest percentage from the field (.384) since his rookie season (.352).
  • His 30.8 percent 3-point% marked a career low.

In his team's exit meeting Jamal said Friday he's still weighing his options.

We're hearing from Marc J. Spears Crawford will indeed opt-out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent.

From J-Craw "The whole plan all along was to secure a one-year deal so I could hit the market again this offseason."

So have we seen the last of him in RipCity? Only time will tell.
