Portland Signed Scottish forward Kris Boyd as designated player
Well done Portland! Well done!
Kris Boyd, the all-time leading scorer in Scottish Premier League, will fill the hole left by the Kenny Cooper trade no doubt.
Signing Boyd as a designated player means some of his salary will not count against the MLS salary cap. EVEN BETTER!
Kris Boyd scored 164 goals in the Scottish Premier League.
Quote:
"He was born to score," Portland coach John Spencer said. "If we create chances, he's going to be the guy that's going to get on the end of them. He's just a natural born finisher."
The Timbers gave the lower of their two first-round picks in 2013 to Houston for the Dynamo's rights to Boyd.
