For now the Portland Timbers training camp is going on at Jeld-Wen Field.
In the spring the Timbers will begin full training at the new venue in Beaverton. April appears to be the time.
Located at 112th Avenue near Highway 217, is part of a 10-year partnership between the Timbers, the city of Beaverton, Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District and Adidas.
The new digs will feature a NICE grass field for exclusive team use and an artificial turf field that will be available for public use through THPRD.
The facility will also have a locker room, training areas and office space.
"This is one of the nicer training facilities in the league and will set us apart a bit," said Merritt Paulson, owner of the Timbers. "Some teams have great training facilities and I'd put (ours) in the top group."
