Before they participated in the MLS Supplemental Draft on January 17, the Timbers announced signing Hanyer Mosquera, a defender from Colombia.

Technical Director Gavin Wilkinson indicated he’d been a target of Portland for the past 18 months.

Mosquera will be added to the Timbers’ roster once the team receives his International Transfer Certificate and P1 Visa.

This now brings the number of Columbians on the roster to 3.

Mosquera joins the Timbers after playing the last six seasons in Colombia, the last two with first division side Club Deportivo La Equidad Seguros.
