Beware Thy Neighbor! Week 14 NFC West Matchups + Previews

DOLPHINS vs. 49ERS (SUN DEC 9, 1 PM ET)

The 49ers lost last week to the Rams, but they are still in first place in the NFC West. However, the 7-5 Seahawks are right on their heels and San Fran could really use a home win. They will start Colin Kaepernick again even though it was his mistakes that cost the 49ers last week.

The Dolphins are coming off a loss and they have lost 4 of their last 5 games even though they did not play that bad last week in their loss to the Patriots.

Frank Gore struggled last week with only 48 rushing yards averaging a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. Still, the 49ers rushed for almost 150 yards last week and will be facing a solid Miami run defense that ranks 8th in the league. However, their pass rush only ranks 26th so at least Kaepernick has that going for him. He has to limit his mistakes and make some plays with his arm.

The 49ers only gave up 16 points last week and will be facing a struggling Miami offense. Rookie QG Ryan Tannehill has a less than stellar WR corps and he has been decent in his last 2 games. He and RB Reggie Bush have a tall order in their game facing a San Francisco defense that ranks 3rd in the league against the pass and 2nd against the run.

The 49ers will get back in the W column at home in this game, as they will dominate the Dolphins on both sides of the ball.
