Know Your Enemy Buffalo vs. San Francisco
BILLS vs. 49ERS (Oct 7 4:25 PM ET)
The 49ers got over their loss to the Vikings by laying a serious beat down on the Jets winning 34-0 and looking great on both sides of the ball. The 49ers rushed for 245 yards in the Jets win and now this week they will be facing a Buffalo run defense that ranks 28th in the league.
Buffalo was embarrassed at home in their last game losing to the New England Patriots 52-28. The Bills paid a ton of money to improve their D, especially brining in LB Mario Williams, but it has yet to pay dividends.
Ryan Fitzpatrick did pass for 350 yards with 4 INT in the loss to the Pats, but he was also picked off 3 times. For the Bills to win they cannot get down early and they have to run the ball behind C.J. Spiller, who only rushed for 33 yards last week. However, that will not be easy facing a San Fran run defense that held the Jets to only 45 rushing yards and ranks 5th in the league.
Alex Smith did get a slew of new weapons on offense in the off-season, but the 49ers need to stick to their strengths, which is running the ball and play good defense. Smith does not need to put up big numbers just manage the game well and avoid turnovers.
This one is not a tough one to call, as the 49ers will easily win behind their stellar D and rushing attack.
