Northwest sports update for this week

Even NHL fans in the Northwest should still have an eye on the Seattle Seahawks, who are doing their best to field a competitive team in the NFC West.

Meanwhile in Major League Soccer action, two of the three Northwest sides will hit the pitch this weekend.

    Seattle Seahawks

Most sportsbooks reviews would state that Seattle just isn’t a free-agent destination for the big names; Matt Flynn was the only quarterback they could get to join the Seahawks, and no one is even sure that he’ll beat Tarvaris Jackson for the starting spot.

Therefore, the Seahawks have to work with what they have and that means they could be in the market to re-sign offensive lineman and Brandon Keith, and they also re-signed veteran corner Marcus Trufant and another lineman, Deuce Lutui.

    Thorough players that use price
per head services know that Trufant’s career has been derailed by injuries, but he can still provide veteran leadership for a young secondary, especially since Walter Thurmond III may not be ready for the start of the season because of a knee injury.

Linebacker Barrett Ruud was brought in to replace David Hawthorne, and the Seahawks also signed Allen Bradford.

Bradford played at USC, where he was originally supposed to play linebacker but was moved to running back, and now he is going back to his first position under his old coach; he also realizes that this could be his best shot to stick in the NFL.

    MLS Round-Up

Most online betting sharps didn’t expect the Vancouver Whitecaps to go through the regular season undefeated, and it took five games for the Whitecaps to lose their first as they lost 3-1 to second-place San Jose and they know have 11 days between games before hosting Kansas City.

The Whitecaps sit in fourth place in the Western Conference on eight points, one ahead of Seattle, who managed to snag a point in a 1-1 draw at D.C. United.

Seattle returns on Saturday for their fourth home game in five outings this season as they welcome Colorado to town and even with a loss, they would still be tied with Portland if the Timbers can steal a win in Los Angeles, where the Galaxy are mired in last place.

The Timbers dropped their second straight game at home with a 2-1 loss to Chivas USA, and Portland simply can’t afford to drop points on their own pitch because they’re not a very good squad, to be honest.

The Timbers need to take care of business at home if they’re going to make some noise in your
    online sportsbook.
