The BC Lions Wally Buono got his man today in the 2012 CFL Draft. The Lions traded up to acquire the second overall pick from the Edmonton Eskimos, and selected Defensive lineman Jabar Westerman.

The Eskimos get BC’s fourth, 14th and 38th selections. The Lions will also acquire the 20th overall pick.

Westerman from Brampton Ontario had a standout career playing NCAA football for Eastern Michigan.

In 2011 Westerman had 26 tackles and 4 sacks. In 2010 season he had 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

“My greatest asset, I would say is my size and strength, just because how big I am – I’m almost 300-pounds – and I’m pretty quick for my size. Most people underestimate my speed,” said Westerman.
