The Gonzaga Bulldogs are back in the Top 25 thanks to a three game winning streak which included a revenge home defeat against the St. Mary’s Gaels. This team only has 4 losses for the season and none are of the bad variety.
They might not win the West Coast Conference like we have come to expect, but in my mind this is still the best team in the league and certainly the one with the best chance to represent the league well in March.
The Zags should have little trouble with Santa Clara which is bringing up the rear in the WCC this season.
Just another reason why this team still has room to grow over the last few games of the season.
I think I read recently that Steve Nash is in his 18th season in the NBA. Which means that it has been a very long time since the Santa Clara Broncos were a threat to anybody. This year has been an especially lean season.
The Broncos have yet to win a game in WCC play, which plus a loss against Wagner makes for 13 losses in a row.
That is a pretty unlucky number but I don’t think they are going to see their luck change against a team like Gonzaga, which beat them by 22 earlier this year.
The Broncos are losing and it usually isn’t even close.
In fact only one of their last 10 losses has been in single digits.
While the rest of the league may be well aware, oddsmakers haven’t caught up with how bad this team really is.
They are sporting a 7-15 ATS record overall including a woeful 2-8 ATS at home where they are straight up 6-6.
Gonzaga should abuse the Broncos similar to the way they did earlier in the season in Spokane.
Spread Pick: Gonzaga -14
