NCAA HOOPS: 2013 UW Huskies conference schedule – Part III

Andrew Andrews Huskies

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies basketball blogger Steve Lee previews the next portion of UW’s 2013 Pac-12 conference schedule, the final three games. Steve knows that this team has the talent to go 3-0 the rest of the way and get into the Pac-12 Tournament on a high note, but the question here is will they? With games against the Cougars, Trojans, and Bruins (nationally televised), the Dawgs definitely have a shot at doing so.

The (Demoralizing) State of UW Hoops

wilcoxbig

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies team blogger Chris Hall brings us his state of the Huskies basketball team. Despite a pre-season ranking and some high ambitions, the Huskies have struggled mightily most of the season. They are now outside looking in with a slim chance to see the post-season.

UW coach Lorenzo Romar on hot seat?

Lorenzo Romar Huskies Coach

NWSB Insider and UW hoops writer Clinton Bell brings us the question of “is coach Romar on the hot seat?” Honestly this all depends on how sympathetic the AD wants to be, as Romar has had to go through the motions this year without two of his best scorers from last year in Terrence Ross and Tony Wroten. He still has CJ Wilcox, but the team cannot rely on one players back to carry the rest of this team. Clinton thinks that Romar’s day’s are limited, and if he doesn’t get shown the door after this season, he will be very soon.

Remember The Name: Damore’ea Stringfellow

Stringfellow Huskies

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall is back to tell us all about the top WR recruit the Huskies just landed, Damore’ea Stringfellow. As he briefly spoke about in a previous post, Stringfellow is out of California, and regarded as the best WR in the recruiting class. A player with athletic talent, he will give Keith Price another target to throw to, that is if he doesn’t red shirt, like Chris believes will happen. Stringfellow has the ability to out-muscle, and out-jump DB’s across the Pac-12 spectrum, which will be a plus for a below average QB like Price turned out to be last season.

Washington Huskies top 5 commitments on 2013 National Signing Day

Cameron Van Winkle Huskies

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall talks about his top five recruits inked on National Signing Day. His number one is a kicker. But, as Chris points out, a good team needs to have at least a decent special teams, and Cameron Van Winkle can, and will, put the Huskies in a better position than they were last year. Other top signings in Chris’ eyes were WR Darrell Daniels, C Dean Crane, DT Elijah Qualls, and LB Sean Constantine.

NCAA Hoops: 2013 UW Huskies conference schedule – Part II

CJ Wilcox

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies basketball blogger Steve Lee previews the next portion of UW’s 2013 Pac-12 conference schedule. Looking ahead to the second month of the schedule, the Huskies come off a tough battle against #8 ranked Arizona at the end of January to take on the Sun Devils of Arizona State. The Huskies will have to use their game against the Wildcats as motivation to help them get past a surprising Sun Devils squad that sits one game ahead of them in the conference standings.

Offseason objectives for Washington football

Keith Price

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall talks about five offseason objectives for the Washington Huskies to accomplish. Washington has lots of talent and depth at quarterback, so should Sark choose to come into 2013 with a new starter, there are options. But until the Huskies know who their signal caller will be, it’s going to be the single biggest offseason issue and question mark for a team that otherwise could be very good.

Five positions Washington needs to upgrade in 2013

2011 Apple Cup Observations

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Hall talks about the positions the Huskies football team need to upgrade in 2013 for an even better season than their last. Graduation left Washington’s receiving corp depleted and shallow after the 1-2 punch of Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Kasen Williams. After an audit, it’s clear Washington needs to fix up five positions in particular.

Overachievers and underachievers for Washington’s basketball team

CJ Wilcox

NWSB Insider and UW hoops writer Clinton Bell tells us his over and under achiever for the 2012/2013 University of Washington Huskies men’s basketball team. The easy, and even obvious choice for over achiever is CJ Wilcox. Leading the team in scoring, he was the man who needed to step up his game more than anybody else with the departures of Tony Wroten and Terrence Ross to the NBA after last season. Aziz N’Diaye is another overachiever.

Five reasons ‘The Sinking Chip’ in Eugene is good for UW

Chip Kelly, Oregon Ducks

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall talks about why Chip leaving Eugene for Philadelphia is a welcome sight for all University of Washington fans. Chip Kelly and his staff were top-flight recruiters. You only needed to glance at their stud-filled recruiting classes every year, or notice how well they reloaded each season, to know this was true. Oregon was on the short list of every big time recruit in the pacific northwest and blue-chip players across the country.

The four biggest regular season UW Basketball games

Lorenzo Romar

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies Basketball blogger Chris Hall talks about the four games on Washington’s schedule that will present the biggest test to the Huskies.Currently sitting at 10-6 following a blowout win against Cal yesterday, Washington has a few obvious big games, and couple trap games in the schedule.

Five things we learned in 2012 about UW Football

Bishop Sankey UW Huskies

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall breaks down what we learned about the Dawgs in 2012. Mainly, that this team has gotten better, but just weren’t ready to turn the corner yet. The QB position is the biggest mess of the team with the poor season by Keith Price. Standouts were Bishop Sankey, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, and Kasen Williams. If the Huskies played in a different conference, they could have been a 10 win team easily. The Pac-12 is second best to the SEC in today’s football world.
