Quick takeaways from Washington’s 2013 spring game

Will Sark's choice to start Keith Price pay off in 2013?

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies Blogger Chris Hall gives us his thoughts on the Annual Spring Game. The spring game matters because it’s the first live football fans of a team have seen for months, and will see for quite a while. Despite the small sample size and unrealistic conditions of a spring game, Husky Nation likely came out cautiously excited. Bishop Sankey, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Keith Price, Kasen WIlliams, and a number of other offensive starters sat out large portions.

Shaq Thompson

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies’ blogger Chris Hall previews the 2013 defense for the Washington Huskies. Players making the cut are Will Shamburger, Sean Parker, Gregory Ducre, Travell Dixon, Travis Feeney, Shaq Thompson, John Timu, Josh Shirley, Andrew Hudson, Danny Shelton and Connor Cree. Much is still up in the air, but things look promising for Washington on both sides of the ball.

Projecting the Washington Huskies 2013 offensive starters

Keith Price

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies’ blogger Chris Hall previews the 2013 offense for the Washington Huskies. Led by Keith Price at quarterback, the Huskies have a lot of potential on the offensive side of the ball, especially with Bishop Sankey at running back. Questions around TE Austin Sefarian-Jenkins don’t seem to be a problem, although his DUI could have an impact in 2013.

Will Keith Price start in week 1 for the UW Huskies?

Keith Price

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall breaks down who could start at quarterback for UW in 2013. Keith Price is coming off a subpar season, begging the question, is there a better fit under center? Cyler Miles, Troy Williams, and Jeff Lindquist all saw time in the Spring Game, but Miles is the only one who had much of a positive impact. Price’s 2012 campaign was far from perfect, but he outshined everyone else in the Spring Game, making it a possibility he could return to his starting role.

kasenbig

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies blogger Brandon Choate brings us a small preview of next season, listing 5 Huskies who must lead by example. Despite their age, Kasen Williams and Shaq Thompson have a big chance to be inspiring while Keith Price and Austin Seferian-Jenkins are looking to bring back the glory.

UW’s home-dominated schedule gives one reason to improve next season

Huskies Broncos

NWSB Insider and UW Football Blogger Erin Acacio breaks down how the Washington Huskies’ schedule will help them in 2013. Washington plays the Boise State Broncos, the Oregon Ducks and the Washington State Cougars all at home. Also, the returns of Bishop Sankey and Jesse Collier will help make up for the loss of seniors Desmond Trufant and Cody Bruns.

UW Report: Five things to watch during spring football

Kasen Williams

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall is back to tell us all about 2013 Huskies spring football. What does Steve Sarkisian have up his sleeve this year? Washington ranked in an exceptionally strong recruiting class this year, another tribute to Sarkisian’s skills as a recruiter. What we know? Kasen Williams will be one of the best receivers in the Pac-12. Austin Seferian-Jenkins’s nagging ankle injury could be seen slowing him down at times.

UW’s Austin Seferian-Jenkins suspended indefinitely

Austin Seferian-Jenkins

NWSB insider Jon Irwin brings us breaking news that Husky start tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has been suspended indefinitely after being charged with a DUI over the weekend. The story was originally reported by The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta. The Dawgs open their upcoming season on August 31, against Boise State.

Remember The Name: Damore’ea Stringfellow

Stringfellow Huskies

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall is back to tell us all about the top WR recruit the Huskies just landed, Damore’ea Stringfellow. As he briefly spoke about in a previous post, Stringfellow is out of California, and regarded as the best WR in the recruiting class. A player with athletic talent, he will give Keith Price another target to throw to, that is if he doesn’t red shirt, like Chris believes will happen. Stringfellow has the ability to out-muscle, and out-jump DB’s across the Pac-12 spectrum, which will be a plus for a below average QB like Price turned out to be last season.

Washington Huskies top 5 commitments on 2013 National Signing Day

Cameron Van Winkle Huskies

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall talks about his top five recruits inked on National Signing Day. His number one is a kicker. But, as Chris points out, a good team needs to have at least a decent special teams, and Cameron Van Winkle can, and will, put the Huskies in a better position than they were last year. Other top signings in Chris’ eyes were WR Darrell Daniels, C Dean Crane, DT Elijah Qualls, and LB Sean Constantine.

Offseason objectives for Washington football

Keith Price

NWSB Insider and Washington Huskies football blogger Chris Hall talks about five offseason objectives for the Washington Huskies to accomplish. Washington has lots of talent and depth at quarterback, so should Sark choose to come into 2013 with a new starter, there are options. But until the Huskies know who their signal caller will be, it’s going to be the single biggest offseason issue and question mark for a team that otherwise could be very good.

Five positions Washington needs to upgrade in 2013

2011 Apple Cup Observations

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Hall talks about the positions the Huskies football team need to upgrade in 2013 for an even better season than their last. Graduation left Washington’s receiving corp depleted and shallow after the 1-2 punch of Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Kasen Williams. After an audit, it’s clear Washington needs to fix up five positions in particular.
