Oregon Ducks vs. WSU Cougars things to love & hate from Saturday in Seattle

Marquess Wilson

NWSB Writer Britton Ransford gives you his love ‘em and hate ‘em from Washington State’s matchup with the Oregon Ducks. After falling behind 20-3 in the first quarter, the Cougars settled down and played toe-to-toe with the #2 team in the country. Two touchdowns and field goal later, the Ducks found themselves in the peculiar position of a competitive 23-19 football game heading into half.

Ducks vs. Cougars

NWSB Insider and Washington State Cougars blogger Jordin Ereth gives us his take in his weekly What Went Wrong post following the BIG loss by the Cougs to the Ducks from Seattle on Saturday night. The Ducks came away with a 51-26 victory over the Cougars, and nobody batted an eyelash at the outcome. Marquess Wilson – who had a solid 12 receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown – still had some key drops to join in the blame game.

Week 5 NCAA Football Preview: Oregon vs. Washington St. Matchup

WSU

Our Washington State Cougars insider Britton Ransford weighs in on this week’s football matchup against the Oregon Ducks in NCAA football week 5 action from Seattle. He asks how will head coach Mike Leach & defensive coordinator Mike Breske alleviate the big plays against a Ducks offense known for just that? For the Cougars to have success Gabe Marks and Marquess Wilson need to make big plays and hold onto the ball.

Reggie Moore’s dissmissal adds more doubt to Cougars’ season

Reggie Moore

NWSB Insider and WSU Cougars basketball blogger Jordin Ereth reports today on the news out of Pullman that Cougars Reggie Moore was dismissed from the Washington State Cougars basketball team Monday due to a violation of team rules by Coach Ken Bone. With the loss of Reggie and Johnson – also known as “Que” – it is going to be interesting to see who steps up for the Cougar offense this season.

Week 4 NCAA Football Preview: Colorado vs. Washington St. Matchup

Travis Long

Our Washington State Cougars insider Britton Ransford weighs in on this week’s football matchup against the Colorado Buffaloes in NCAA football week 4 action. He thinks whether Connor Halliday or Jeff Tuel starts, the QB play should be solid and the defense will have several opportunities to make plays resulting in turnovers. The Buffs are going to look to run the ball early but will most likely have to revert to passing. Enter Mike Leach’s defense.

WSU Cougars vs. UNLV: Week 3 game balls & stats

Connor Halliday

NWSB Insider and Washington St. Cougars blogger Britton Ransford after each week of the regular season and possibly during a bowl game or BCS playoffs should the Cougs be so lucky will stop by and bring you his WSU game balls. Balls are awarded to the Cougars offensive MVP’s Connor Halliday, and on defense this week not surprisingly Travis Long. Michael Bowlin, WSU’s junior punter continued to punt well…

Week 3 NCAA football preview: Washington St. vs UNLV matchup

Connor Halliday

Our Washington State Cougars insider Jordin Ereth weighs in on this week’s football matchup against the UNLV Rebels in NCAA football week 3 action. Jordin says Expect Connor Halliday to let the ball fly often, and let Marquess Wilson make plays down field. Halliday may throw an interception or two in this game, but with the poor defensive of UNLV on the other side of the ball, the reward will greatly outweigh the risk.

Eastern Washington vs Washington St. Cougars: love ‘em hate ‘em Week 2

Jeff Tuel

NWSB Insider and Washington State Cougars football blogger Jordin Ereth breaks down the EWU vs. WSU Cougars 2012 Week 2 matchup in a new Cougs Love ‘em & Hate ‘em. Jordin loved Darryl Monroe. The (rs) freshman from Orlando, Fla. was a one-man wrecking machine Saturday afternoon. He’s not a fan of Jeff Tuel. He’s not sure if it is the complications of the offense, or the worry of injury – which is not very far fetched.

Eastern Washington vs. WSU Cougars Week 2 game balls & stats

WSU Cougars

NWSB Insider and Washington St. Cougars Insider Steve after each week of the regular season and possibly during a bowl game or BCS playoffs should the Cougs be so lucky will stop by and bring you his WSU game balls. Balls are awarded to the Cougars offensive MVP’s Carl Winston III and Teondray Caldwell, and on defense this week the entire Cougar defense. Without any question Andrew Furney deserves credit for his 60-yard field goal on ST’s.

Week 2 NCAA Football Preview: East. Washington vs. Washington St. Matchup

Jeff Tuel

Our Washington State Cougars insider Britton Ransford weighs in on this week’s football matchup against the Eastern Washington Eagles in NCAA football week 2 action. He thinks after having a week to examine what went wrong against BYU, the Cougars should bounce back impressively against a rather inferior Eastern Washington football team. Jeff Tuel made some very questionable decisions in the passing game. He must be better at home.

WSU Cougars vs. BYU Cougars: NCAA love ‘em & hate ‘em Week 1

WSU vs. BYU

NWSB Insider and Washington State Cougars football blogger Jordin Ereth breaks down the WSU vs. BYU Cougars 2012 Week 1 matchup in a new Cougs Love ‘em & Hate ‘em. Jordin loved Ioane Gauta on the defensive line, and not much else. He hated the Mike Leach game plan for WSU. He hated the the timid demeanor of Jeff Tuel and body language. Marquess Wilson was constantly throwing up his arms…

Washington St. vs. BYU: The Aftermath, what went wrong?

Mike Leach

NWSB Insider and WSU Cougars blogger Britton Ransford is in a state of shock today. He says the offense was bad. That wasn’t supposed to happen. The defense was bad. That was supposed to happen. If you told him that WSUs defense would hold BYU to 30 points he probably would have assumed WSU won by 14. After a promising first drive was interrupted by a terrible throwing decision by Jeff Tuel, the wheels fell off the Mike Leach bus.
