NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about Oklahoma City’s recent use of Macklemore’s hit song ‘Can’t Hold Us’ and how it has sparked a response from the Seattle rapper. Aside from vocalizing his support for Seattle sports teams, Macklemore is also a good friend of Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and has been an avid supporter of bringing the Supersonics back. Performing at the Sonics’ rally that was held awhile back, Macklemore recently showed his support for the Sonics’ cause at Seattle’s ‘We Day’.

Starting with rumors of the team being sold, people from the great Northwest began to feel as if they may finally see the return of the Seattle Supersonics. Now, that move is up in the air despite the Maloofs’ desire to sell, sell, sell.

Peter Edlund is getting excited about the potential of a return of the Seattle Supersonics to the great Northwest. The potential move of the Sacramento Kings would land a handful of exciting players in Seattle, including DeMarcus Cousins, Isaiah Thomas, Chuck Hayes, Patrick Patterson and Marcus Thornton. Tyreke Evans is another solid candidate, but the combination of he and Cousins hasn’t led to success thus far.

Cody Zeller, and Nerlens Noel lead Clinton’s picks for much needed big man help on this Kings/Sonics roster. DeMarcus Cousins has the ability to be an All-Star for many years, but he needs a little help up front. Zeller has the offensive ability the Kings lack up front, while Noel is a defensive mastermind that will help on the low post.

Though there were early reports coming from the daughter of NBA agent David Falk that the Kings were being sold to Seattle (which were quickly dismissed), Seattle having a basketball team in 2013 became more concrete when Adrian Wojnarowski, a reporter for Yahoo! Sports, tweeted that the two sides were very close to an agreement.
