Anthony McCoy (Elaine Thompson/AP Photo)

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about the reports that Anthony McCoy has torn his Achilles and underwent surgery on Thursday. With 2013 being a year that could see the Seahawks chase one of their best seasons in team history, any injury, especially to a guy who saw a significant amount of snaps last year, is important to look at. Watch for Darren Fells, Cooper Helfet, Victor Marshall, Sean McGrath, Luke Willson, and Matt Austin in 2013.

Coach speak: Seahawks Pete Carroll presser | May 20th

Pete Carroll

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks Blogger Jonas Hyde recaps Pete Carroll’s most recent press conference in a new NWSB series, Coach Speak. Not only was the May 20 presser about the first OTA, it was also the first time Carroll talked about the suspension of Bruce Irvin. The truth was in the details, and Carroll was avoiding particulars as much as he was avoiding eye contact.

Seattle 2013 OTA’s Observations: Championship offseason

Spencer Ware will be the fullback of the future in Seattle (Rod Mar/Seattle Seahawks)

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about the first two days of Seatle’s OTAs. Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, and Percy Harvin (to name just a fraction of the offensive stars on the roster), give Seattle huge potential heading into 2013. Their defense isn’t too shabby, either, as the Legion of Boom will be back in full force while the defensive line continues to shape-up nicely.

The Seattle Seahawks 2013 backup QB battle

Will Brady Quinn be the backup in Seattle (Dustin Bradford/Getty Images)

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens gives you his opinion on who will be the backup quarterback to Russell Wilson in Seattle. The release of Josh Portis after his alleged DUI helped to clear some things up, as Brady Quinn will likely step into the role due to his experience and talent. Don’t count out Jerrod Johnson, though, as he does has a unique skill set that could prove valuable in Seattle.

Early betting odds & futures: 2013 Seattle Seahawks

Golden Tate

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about Seattle’s odds at winning the Super Bowl, winning the NFC Championship, and taking home the NFC West in 2013. Obviously there are some teams that you will feel safer betting on than other teams. And with us being northwesterners (or at least most of us) as well as you clicking on an article that is about the Seattle Seahawks, I’m going to safely assume you, at times, feel quite confident about the bets you put on Seattle.

Seahawks future: Marshawn Lynch’s role with the team

Marshawn Lynch, Russell Wilson

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks Blogger Brett Bivens brings us his rendition of how the RB back situation will play out in Seattle, specifically the future of Marshawn Lynch. The Seahawks still have Lynch on payroll for the next few seasons, and Brett says that the drafting of Christine Michael was no fluke, that the Hawks are preparing for life after Lynch. What nobody wants to see is the petered out version of a great back in his swan song, a la Shaun Alexander.

Finding roles for the Seattle Seahawks 2013 draft class

Christine Michael

ESPN Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Jordin Ereth breaks down every rookie in training camp and what their roles could be with the team moving forward. The rookie class comprises Christine Michael, Jordan Hill, Chris Harper, Jesse Williams, Tharold Simon, Luke Wilson, Spencer Ware, Ryan Seymour, Ty Powell, Jared Smith and Michael Bowie. So many coaches and Gm’s nowadays settle with the rosters they have. Not Pete Carroll & John Schneider.

Always Compete! Seattle Seahawks 5 positions up for grabs

jerrodjohnson

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brandon Choate brings us his 5 depth chart positions that will up for grab when the Seattle Seahawks hit camp this year. Will Malcolm Smith become the new starting ROLB? While Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin are set, they look to see who wins between Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin. Chris Harper and Jermaine Kearse will also battle. As will Tony McDaniel, Jesse Williams and Jordan Hill on the interior line.

Bruce Irvin gets sacked by the NFL

Bruce Irvin draft pick

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks Blogger Brett Bivens recaps his thoughts on the four-game suspension of Bruce Irvin. After watching Winston Guy and Brandon Browner get suspended last season, as well as Richard Sherman fighting suspension for using Adderall, you’d think Bivens would have been smarter. The initial assumption in the minds of fans was probably that Irvin was taking steroids, but this just doesn’t make sense to the 12th man.

LEO Down! Hawks Bruce Irvin suspended for four games

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about Bruce Irvin’s suspension of four games for using banned substances. Seattle’s somewhat surprise of a first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, reports have come out that he was suspended for using Adderall, a medication that has become all too familiar with the Seahawks. Last year, Richard Sherman (accused) and Brandon Browner was suspended for four games for using the substance, though Sherman fought his suspension and ended up winning.

A look back at Seahawks’ 2013 rookie mini-camp

Luke Willson

NWSB Insider Brett Bivens gives you some feedback from the recently concluded Seahawks mini-camps. He points out Jerrod Johnson isn’t your average rookie, trying to make it in Philadelphia and Pittsburg the last two seasons. Luke Willson. There was not a lot of video of him playing floating around the internet at the time he was drafted, he looks like a nice compliment to Zach Miller. Jesse Williams, The Monstar has a huge upper body.

Richard Sherman hires infamous ref for charity softball game

Tate's now infamous catch (Ric Tapia/NFL)

NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson talks about Richard Sherman’s latest antics that saw him hire Lance Easley, a replacement ref infamous for the call he made that ended the Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks game, as an ump for his upcoming charity softball game. A call that would also help to bring back the replacement refs, what was a low scoring contest became the talk of the world when Russell Wilson heaved up a pass to the end zone with time expiring, hoping to give his Seahawks a crucial win.
