The Lions are gearing up for a great season (bclions.com)

NWSB Insider, resident CFL betting expert and BC Lions’ blogger Dave B talks about the Lions’ odds at winning the Grey Cup in 2013. The BC Lions enter the 2013 CFL season in a familiar spot – as favorites to win the Grey Cup – and rightfully so. This is a team that won it all in 2011 and was the league’s best Regular Season team last year despite not getting a full year out of Travis Lulay

B.C. Lions who will surprise and impress in 2013

The Lions are gearing up for a great season (bclions.com)

NWSB Insider and BL Lions’ blogger Bryan McFarlane talks about five players to keep your eye on if you’re paying close attention to the BC Lions this year, they may just surprise you! With the great threat of Andrew Harris in the backfield, he keeps opposing defenses on alert and frees up a bit of space in the secondary for Lulay to pick apart. So even though the orange and white will be without their beloved fan-favorite Simon, don’t expect this season to be a let down in the passing game.

BC Lions Moments In Time: Remembering Norm Fieldgate

Norm Fieldgate

NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Phil “The Bartender” Slater rewinds the clock today in another Moments in time piece about the BC Lions. Phil points out Adam Bighill, Solomon Elimimian and Anton McKenzie lead a group of formidable LB’s for our beloved orange squad but that maybe the best ‘Backer the Leo’s ever had was also the first one they ever had: Norm Fieldgate.

Five positions to watch at BC Lions 2013 training camp

Solomon Elimimian

NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Andrew Deutschmann weighs in today on the 2013 Leo’s Training camp battles to watch for. He said to watch for Strong Side Corner, Safety, Receiver, Back Up/Third String Quarterback, and Kicker as the best battles to view. 23 year old Hugh O’Neill will look to unseat Paul McCallum. Yes he`s talking kicker. Travis Lulay`s backup isn`t clear. Thomas DeMarco and Jarrett Brown and now Joey Elliot will duke it out.

BC Lions weigh pros and cons of signing Emmanuel Arcenaux

Emmanuel Arcenaux

NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Andrew Deutschmann weighs in today on the reported possible signing by the Leo’s of former Vikings WR Emmanuel Arcenaux. The chase to land the former Lions wideout began at the start of the week when Arceneaux told CKWX he has seen the light and will put his NFL pursuits on hold. Andrew says personally he’d go for it. The opportunity to get a young, bonafide CFL receiver of Arcenaux’s calibre doesn’t come around often.

Catching up with BC Lions WR Marco Iannuzzi

"I don’t hate or avoid going up against anyone."

NWSB Writer Josh Hall interviews BC Lions third year Wide Receiver Marco Iannuzzi. The 26 year old Calgary native thinks this team is fine headed into the 2013 season even with the void left by Geroy Simon and Arland Bruce on offense. Also, how did the Bostom bombings affect Iannuzzi who played four years of college ball in Massachusetts? You ready to roar in 2013 Lions fans?

Revisiting the BC Lions 2013 draft

2013 CFL Draft

NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Phil “The Bartender” Slater brings us a recap from the BC Lions 2013 CFL Draft. A few of these players are expected to stay on at their perspective universities for this season, but the Lions hope to see them in uniform in the future. One of those players, LB Bo Lokombo, will stay at Oregon in hopes of upping his NFL draft stock this next season.

Welcome to BC Hunter Steward….Offensive line Liberty

Hunter Steward was BC's first round pick. (Liberty.edu)

BC Lions Selections Heading into Monday’s draft, the BC Lions were looking to fill some large voids on their roster, most notably along the offensive line. And if filling large gaps was the plan, Mission Accomplished. Hunter Steward is a big individual, standing 6’7” and over 290lbs, with room to grow.  Gauged as one of the [...]

What should the Lions do on Draft day?

What Will Wally Do? (ottowasun.com)

NWSB Insider and BC Lions’ blogger Phil Slater speaks his mind on what he believes the Lions will do in the upcoming CFL Draft. Travis Lulay, Andrew Harris and Adam Bighill are players that will be operating under new deals. Buono has also brought in some little known talent to fill out the depth at quarterback and O-Line, but he is still a few players removed from bringing in a full squad to the upcoming training camp in Kamloops.

The never-ending saga of Khalif Mitchell

Khalif Mitchell

NWSB Insider and BC Lions’ blogger Andrew Deutschmann talks about the never-ending saga of Khalif Mitchell, a thankfully former BC Lion. His talent and tenacity are just about unmatched throughout the CFL and when he’s on, he is the best defensive player in the league, in my mind. He didn’t always have huge numbers, but he always attracts attention from the other team and opens up opportunities for his teammates to make plays.

Who’s In? Who’s Out? The B.C. Lions have reloaded!

In comes Rudy to backup Lulay

NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Phil “The Bartender” Slater tells us that the Leo’s have reloaded their roster in advance of trying to win the 2013 Grey Cup. Anthony Reddick, the veteran outside linebacker was released, most likely to give Lin-J Shell or Solomon Elimimian additional playing time. Khalif Mitchell & Geroy Simon are also gone. In are Justin Harper, Elvis Akpla, Adrian Awasom, Adrian Awasom and DJ Woods. Lets go!

The 2013 pre-season starts for the BC Lions

Travis Lulay BC Lions QB

NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Phil “The Bartender” Slater tells us that the Leo’s preseason is in full effect. Coach Benevides has the offense working extra hard this spring, with Travis Lulay and the WR corps getting extra reps with the new offense. Gone is Geroy Simon, but who needs him anyways (trader). But the Bartender wants to know who will step up? Who will be the next go to guy for the Lions?
