After an impressive 6-2 record in their 2011 season, the UBC Thunderbirds are instead chalking up an 0-8 finish. The unintentional administrative error was discovered by the athletic department during a standard year-end review.

It was supposed to be a year of rebuilding for UBC Basketball, the players lost to graduation would leave too big of a gap to fill. Gone are backcourt mates Josh Whyte and Alex Murphy, along with forward Brent Malish, the later two being five year staples at the Point Grey campus.

After years without playoff football on UBC’s campus the Thunderbirds are ready to make up for lost time, beginning with a season-long vendetta against the visiting Saskatchewan Huskies on Saturday.

Yes it’s that time of year again – Homecoming is upon is. They’ll be music, face painting, hot dogs and beer, along with the UBC Thunderbirds looking for revenge against the Manitoba Bisons
