*NHL ATS Matchup Report*

They are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and are an incredible 10-2-1 in their last 13 games on the road. The next test for the Canucks – the Los Angeles Kings who are also on quite a streak of their own – 4-0-2 in their last six games.

The Canucks attempt the dangerous and rare California sweep on Saturday night!

Vancouver has absolutely everything going well at the moment. Offensively they are on fire and defensively they are among the best in the NHL. The formula of four quality lines gives other team fits – any of them can and will contribute.

The Sedins have remained the centerpiece of the offense and they have been delivering. Henrik has 31 points in his last 24 games – 5 in his last 3, Daniel has 8 points in seven games and their linemate Alex Burrows has six goals in his last eight games.

Three lines scored goals the other night in Anaheim so Vancouver looks good offensively going into Saturday’s game.

Canucks vs. Kings

Vancouver Canucks vs. L.A. Kings Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

Expect Roberto Luongo to start for the Canucks after taking Thursday off. Lou is 9-1-1 with a 1.71 goals-against average in his last 11 starts and is 6-1-1 in his last eight starts versus Los Angeles with a 2.10 goals-against average in those games.

The Kings have gone on a bit of a tear – 4-0-2 in their last six games. They are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games – before the streak they weren’t playing well at all. Obviously Darryl Sutter is saying something right.

Los Angeles has been getting it done with defense alone – they are the worst offensive team in the league averaging just 2.2 goals per game. The Kings Power Play has been a disaster this year – 4 goals in their last 17 games and 2 for 42 over that span!

It has been the goaltender show in Los Angeles – Jonathan Quick and Jonathan Bernier have combined to go 4-0-2 while giving up just 10 goals over that span – they have given up one goal (an overtime one) in their last two games.

The Kings had better bring a similar effort against the powerful Canucks.

But Jonathan Quick is an unflattering 5-11-1 with a 2.64 goals-against average in his career versus the Canucks.

Dave’s Free Canucks Betting Predictions

Vancouver is third highest scoring team in the league at 3.4 goals per game – they have scored four or more goals or more in 11 of their last 15 games. Vancouver leads the league in power play goals with 0.9 per game and on the power play at 24.8%.

Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Ryan Kesler, Alex Edler, Sami Salo, Kevin Bieksa, Cody Hodgson and Alex Burrows are as good as it gets in the NHL with the man advantage.

The Los Angeles Kings are the worst offensive team in the league averaging just 2.2 goals per game.

If you want to know how well the Canucks are playing – take a look at the numbers.

They are an NHL-best 15-3-1 in the last 19 games – teams absolutely have to have their “A-Game” to beat them. The Kings are the same old Kings – struggling to score goals.

I can’t see them slowing the Canucks despite their insane defensive play as of late.

Vancouver is just too hot to be denied – look for them to close out 2011 in style!

Pick: Vancouver Canucks -132
