*NHL ATS Matchup Report*

Vancouver heads to Columbus in attempt to win their third straight game on their current five game road trip and their sixth straight game away from home.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have been playing better of late but are still near the bottom of the NHL standings.

Vancouver, as mentioned, is absolutely on fire, winning game in dramatic comeback fashion and dominating from beginning to end. Offensively, the Canucks have been lights out despite the loss of David Booth and now Cody Hodgson to injury.

The top line continues to be anchored by the Sedins – Henrik has nine points on his current five-game point streak and Daniel has been matching him point for point.

The second line has Ryan Kesler who has led the Vancouver offensively lately with 14 points in his last 10 games.

Roberto Luongo returned from injury and has been in goal for both of Vancouver’s wins on the road trip. He figures to get the start in Columbus once again – he is finally the hotter of the two goaltenders for the Canucks.

Canucks vs. Blue Jackets

Vancouver Canucks vs. Columbus Blue Jackets Gambling Odds & Handicapping

Columbus has been better of late but their problem has been holding onto leads. The Jackets have lost two straight games in which they held leads into the third period.

Offensively, they are still bottom dwellers in the league – the power play has a lot to do with that!

They are currently fourth last in the NHL in that department despite having the second most opportunities in the league.

Rick Nash has four points in his last five games while James Wisniewski has five points in his last five games for Columbus – the hottest Jackets going at the moment.

Defensively, the Jackets are still a mess.

After a good run that saw backup goaltender Curtis Samford (3-0-2 in five games), he has hit a stretch in which three of his last four starts have resulted in save percentages under .850 – not good!

The Penalty Kill is last in the league by a mile, killing off only 73.7%.

Dave’s Free Canucks Betting Predictions

Vancouver is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings with Columbus. Columbus is 11-40 in their last 51 overall and is 7-19 in their last 26 home games.

The Vancouver Canucks are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games while Columbus is 4-4-2.

Vancouver could be due for a letdown game here but at the moment they can’t seem to do anything wrong.

Vancouver is simply better in every aspect of the game. Tuesday’s contest will be determined by Special Teams – something that Vancouver has an enormous edge in. Betting against the Canucks is suicide at the moment.

Take the road win streak to continue.

Pick: Vancouver Canucks -174
