Canucks Sign Stanton

Waiver wire addition from the Blackhawks

First reported by Darren Dreger of TSN on twitter, the Canucks have signed Ryan Stanton.

In Chicago Kostka won the position battle for one of the last remaining d-man spots, forcing Chicago to put Stanton on waivers.

Stanton is 6’2 196. He’s 24 and had 3 goals and 22 assist last year in Rockford of the AHL. He also chimed in with 126 PIM’s. In March 2010, the Blackhawks signed Stanton to a three-year entry-level contract.

Stanton’s first professional goal was scored in a 4-3 Rockford IceHogs loss on February 23, 2011 against the Chicago Wolves. (Yes the Canucks farm team at the time)
