Canucks Alex Edler suspended 3 games

For That? C’mon!

In what is making most Nucks fans scratch their head today we’ve learned that Canucks defenseman Alex Edler has been suspended for three games for a phantom hit to the head of Sharks forward Tomas Hertl.

“No doubt there was contact to the head, that’s obvious,” Sharks head coach Todd McLellan told reporters. “It’s how it will be interpreted.”

Edler has been suspended before, perhaps that’s why there’s no get out of jail free card here for this one. He sat out two games last season for charging Phoenix Coyotes goalie

Here’s the replay of the hit.
