Game Notes

It’s the final meeting between the Flames and Canucks this year, with Vancouver taking three of the first four games so far. The Flames have looked particularly listless since the trade of their captain Jarome Iginla, having won just three of their last 10.

What to watch: Calgary

Good luck finding anything to watch in Calgary these days. The rebuild is upon them, and the future looks about as bright as a cupboard full of B and C level prospects can be. There’s major work to be done in Calgary, where the Western Conference finally lapped them this year.

Pity Flames fans? Nah. Not at all.

Cory Schneider

Hard to not to see a Canucks victory right?

What to watch: Vancouver

Monday was the triumphant return of Ryan Kesler. Tuesday, unfortunately, was the departure of Chris Tanev and Chris Higgins from the line-up for the foreseeable future.

Frustratingly, we may never see a fully healthy Canucks roster this year. Thankfully, it consists of enough depth to make it a roster of moving parts that can take many forms to win hockey games.

With nine games left in the season, and just three at home, the Canucks are hoping to keep their run of play strong heading into the playoffs.

It begins with Cory Schneider, who has been playing lights out hockey and relegating Roberto Luongo to a glorified social media consultant.

The Flames will miss Jiri Hudler, Brian McGrattan and Derek Smith.

Hard to not to see a Canucks victory right? Which is why I probably just jinxed it.
