Stars + Canucks – A playoff spot on the line
The Vancouver Canucks will try to build on a four game win streak when they host the Pacific Division leader Dallas on Friday night. While the Canucks have their division locked up, the Stars own an uber-slim lead in the Pacific with San Jose, Los Angeles and Phoenix hot on their heels.

*NHL ATS Matchup Report*
The Dallas Stars have won two of three meetings with the Canucks this season and will need another good effort in order to stay atop one of the tightest division races ever.
The Stars have gone 6-4-0 in their last 10 games and have been scoring some goals along the way. Currently the Stars are 17th in the NHL in goals for but as mentioned they have been getting some superb efforts from their offensive stars.
Michael Ryder has five goals and three assists in five games, Mike Ribeiro has four points in two games and Jamie Benn has four points in three games.
Offensively, this is not the anemic Stars team that we have all come to know!
Dallas will ride Kari Lehtonen in goal as per usual on Friday. Lehtonen makes his seventh straight start on Friday. In his last 15 games is 11-3-1 with a 1.83 goals against average and a .939 save percentage.
The Canucks have been winning but winning ugly. Their last two wins have been by 1-0 scores and in their last six games they have a total of just nine goals.
Where has all the offense gone?
Daniel Sedin’s absence can’t be that huge can it? Ryan Kesler and Alex Burrows have failed to hit the score sheet in their last seven games and David Booth is pointless in six.
Thank goodness for Chris Higgins who has three points in three games, two of which have been game winners!

Dallas Stars vs. Vancouver Canucks Betting Lines & Handicapping
Roberto Luongo got the night off on Wednesday and Cory Schneider filled in admirably recording the shutout.
Luongo should be back in goal Friday on the heels of a 2-0-0 record in his last two starts and a 0.98 goals against average in those games. Lou is back folks and looks to be one of the only Canucks ramping up for the playoffs.
Dave’s wont cost you anything Stars vs. Canucks betting prediction
Dallas is 7-2 in their last 9 road games but is just 2-7 in the last 9 meetings with Vancouver.
The Stars are desperate but which one of the Canucks’ recent opponents hasn’t been. The Canucks are still playing for first overall in the NHL – there is no reason to take the foot off the pedal.
It may seem that Vancouver is due for a loss after dodging a bullet the last week or so but I like them to get it done against an overmatched Stars squad.
Take the Canucks to barely get it done again on Friday night as they keep the Blues within their sights for the President’s trophy.
Pick: Vancouver Canucks -154

- Game 78 Stars vs. Canucks: Rollin’ like a pebble - Is it just me or are the Vancouver Canucks winning but still not getting any credit? Yes, it’s been four in a row now and NWSB Insider Josh Hall says it’s about time we trust the Captain Henrik Sedin. Who will start against the Dallas Stars Friday? Should it be Cory Schneider? He’s the only one to beat them in three tries. Bah humbug to all you bandwagoners. Shame on you.
