*My Take!* What I’m most looking forward to about Seahawks 2012 training camp

Sidney Rice

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church weighs in with a Seahawks post about his question marks for the 2012 Training camp, and points out some things to watch for. The health of #1 WR Sidney Rice makes the list, as does the 2012 QB competition between Tarvaris Jackson, Matt Flynn, and Russell Wilson. Pretty special to see the DB’s too. Earl Thomas, Brandon Browner, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman are talented.

Five things that worry me about the 2012 Seahawks

Can Bruce Irvin make it into the stat column on Thursday finally? (photo zimbio.com)

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church weighs in with a Seahawks post about his question marks for the 2012 season. Is Bruce Irvin the real deal? Can the moves at the linebacker position be the answer for the most inconsistant position on the defense last year? Also In comes Tarvaris Jackson, the returner. He’s doing well. Will the inexperienced Matt Flynn be any better?

Out of the infirmary: More fearless Seahawks predictions

John Moffitt Suspension

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church weighs in with a Seahawks post about his predictions for five Seahawks that were injured last year. John Moffit was huge last year to the run game, another big name that missed almost the entire year was WR Sidney Rice. He is injury prone, that we knew, but can he be the big name player that the Seahawks signed as a free agent two summers ago?

The easiest games on the 2012 Seattle Seahawks schedule

Seahawks vs. Cardinals

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church weighs in with a Seahawks post about the five easiest 2012 NFL matchups that await the team this season. The Seahawks match up with the Rams in week four should be an easy win, if the secondary can shut down Sam Bradford that is. Another easy game with division implications is the week twelve match up with the Arizona Cardinals. Will Matt Flynn be the man?

Seahawks Player Profiles: Jon Ryan

Have boot will travel. Canadian born punter Jon Ryan has made a name for himself in Seattle (photo seahawks.com)

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church brings us a Northwest Player Profile of Seahawks punter Jon Ryan. Ryan was born in Regina Saskatchewan, played at the University of Regina, and got his professional start with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. With the noteriety he gained in the CFL, it didn’t take long for the NFL to come calling. Ryan made his debut with the Grenn Bay Packers before finally landing in Seattle with the Seahawks.

How good can the Seahawks defense be in 2012? Top 5? Top 10?

Can Bruce Irvin make it into the stat column on Thursday finally? (photo zimbio.com)

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church asks us the serious question of whether or not the Seahawks will have a top defense again in 2012? With the departure of David Hawthorne there is an empty space. Let’s hope that is filled by the rookie Bobby Wagner. Coupled with Brandon Mebane, Red Bryant, LeRoy Hill, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor and K.J. Wright the makings is there for an amazing defense.

Show me the money! Seahawks Chris Clemons vs. Glen Frey..err John Schneider

Chris Clemons

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church points out the Chris Clemons vs. Pete Carroll / John Schneider Seahawks contract stalemate reminds him of the movie Jerry Maguire, and the Rod Tidwell vs. Arizona Cardinals dispute. Right Glenn Frey? What happens now? The Seahawks gained a huge upgrade with the pass rush by obtaining Bruce Irvin in the draft.

The toughest games on the 2012 Seattle Seahawks schedule

Packers vs. Seahawks

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church weighs in with a Seahawks post about the five toughest 2012 NFL matchups that await the team this season. In particular the week 16 game vs. division foes the San Francisco 49ers and Alex Smith. It is very likely that this will be the most important game on the Seahawks’ schedule. Will it be Matt Flynn or Tarvaris Jackson at the helm for Seattle?

Five Seahawks that need to make a big impression in 2012

Bruce Irvin, Seattle Seahawks

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church weighs in with a Seahawks post about the five players that need to have impact seasons in 2012. Matt Flynn, Jason Jones, Sidney Rice, Kellen Winslow, and Bruce Irvin are the guys he points at. Who will take the opportunity to make a big impression this season, and who will flop?

Five Seahawks not expected to make the 2012 Seattle roster

Josh Portis could be the odd man out. (photo agentjr.com)

NWSB Inside and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church weighs in with a Seahawks post about the five players he thinks will not be here come week one of the regular season. Most of these players are no brainers in Matt’s eyes, except maybe Josh Portis. But with the additions of Russell Wilson and Matt Flynn, there may be no room for Portis at the end of the day.

Seattle Seahawks Player Profile: Jason Jones

Jason Jones

NWSB Inside and Seattle Seahawks blogger Matt Church weighs in with a Seahawks Player Profile on Jason Jones. Jones’ primary role as a pass rusher will be in the nickel defense. He has the potential to be a great replacement for Raheem Brock as well if they use him outside in pass rush situations. Of course more than likely he’ll line up inside on third downs.
