The Spurs are an excellent team, but losing by 35 points really shouldn’t happen. Portland didn’t show up to fight in this one, and that was disappointing to see. Raymond Felton and Wesley Matthews combined to shoot 14 for 40.

The Blazers are officially out of the running for the 2012 playoffs. Coach Canales has been preaching defense, so he had to be extremely disappointed in last night’s effort. You could make a solid argument that J.J. Hickson has been Portland’s best player.

While the team is extremely unlikely to get a playoff berth at this point, it will be interesting to see if they keep fighting under Coach Canales. Golden State will travel to take on the Blazers in the Rose Garden Wednesday night.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points and nine rebounds and Nicolas Batum added 20 points and 10 rebounds as host Portland downed New Jersey. Portland led 46-44 at halftime.

The Blazers were still able to win this one because they were playing one of the worst teams in the league. J.J. Hickson was great off the bench again. Luke Babbitt poured in a career-high 16 points in just 17 minutes off the bench.

Hickson was a great pickup by the Blazers and he is showing his value. Jamal Crawford has been disappointing of late. This is a guy who has carried teams in the past with scoring ability, but he is in a major slump.
