Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with the 2013 Seattle Seahawks pre-season schedule. Old rivals get a chance to renew the fight, pre-season style. The Seahawks will face off against the Chargers, Broncos, Packers, and Raiders this year. With each game carrying a bit of significance to it, even by pre-season standards. The quest for a Super Bowl trophy starts here! Russell Wilson vs. Matt Flynn, vs. Aaron Rogers, vs. Peyton Manning, and vs. Philip Rivers.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell brings us a different kind of Mariners piece today. This piece is about the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis song “My oh My.” An announcer like Dave will never be forgotten, but this video cements his legacy into our hearts a bit more than it already was. His catchphrases will be passed down from generation to generation as folk lore. We miss you Dave.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell brings us his expectations of five Mariners players for the upcoming 2013 MLB season. Jesus Montero, Justin Smoak, Blake Beavan, Raul Ibanez, and Michael Morse are all going to have to step it up this season. Three of the five are fighting for survival in a M’s uniform, and the other two are going to have to prove they are worthy enough to don one once again. These five guys may make or break Jack Z as the GM in Seattle.
Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with the top needs, in his opinion, that the Seahawks need to address in the upcoming NFL Draft. The top needs, says Clinton, are TE, OT, OG, and OLB. He gives us two selections per each position, and where he thinks the Seahawks will select them in the draft. Also, he has a wishful thinking selection, but it is highly unlikely that this player will drop far enough in the draft for the Hawks to actually select him.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell brings us a piece on his favorite Northwest athlete of all time; Ken Griffey Jr. Clinton was lucky enough to grow up in a time before the steroid era of baseball, and one of those players who made it through unscathed, was Ken Griffey Jr. Coming to the Mariners as a thin 19 year old, Jr. would take not only the city of Seattle by storm, but the baseball world as well. Those of you who were there for this will forever be linked with Jr. and the Mariners in baseball history.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with a Mariners Spring Training update. The Bats are on fire! The M’s keep rolling off wins! But, can this continue when the team is trimmed to 25, and the position battles are no longer? This new power minded team was built by the one and only Jack Z for the new and improved Safeco Field. The walls have been moved in, prompting the GM to go out and find some power to restore the M’s to the glory days.
NWSB Insider and Seattle SuperSonics blogger Clinton Bell gives us his two choices for lottery picks the future Sonics should take a hard look at come July. Cody Zeller, and Nerlens Noel lead Clinton’s picks for much needed big man help on this Kings/Sonics roster. DeMarcus Cousins has the ability to be an All-Star for many years, but he needs a little help up front. Zeller has the offensive ability the Kings lack up front, while Noel is a defensive mastermind that will help on the low post.
NWSB Insider and UW hoops writer Clinton Bell brings us the question of “is coach Romar on the hot seat?” Honestly this all depends on how sympathetic the AD wants to be, as Romar has had to go through the motions this year without two of his best scorers from last year in Terrence Ross and Tony Wroten. He still has CJ Wilcox, but the team cannot rely on one players back to carry the rest of this team. Clinton thinks that Romar’s day’s are limited, and if he doesn’t get shown the door after this season, he will be very soon.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Sounders writer Clinton Bell brings us his 5 fearless predictions for the upcoming Seattle Sounders FC 2013 season. Clinton thinks that once Eddie Johnson is up top all alone, the goals will start coming, and that will make the loan of Freddy Montero to Millonarios that much easier for the fans. Also, a top eight spot in the CCL, a return to form in the Cascadia Cup, a changing of the guard out west, and the importance of adding Sharlie Joseph to this years squad, even if it meant losing an important DP role.
Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with the five players who he thinks need to improve the most in 2013 if the Seahawks are going to make a serious push for the Super Bowl. The biggest name that comes to mind for Clinton is Seahawks rookie DT Bruce Irvin. He showed signs of both brilliance, and need of improvement in his rookie season. He ended up with 8 sacks on the year, but his play on first and second down, when called upon, is where the most work is needed. The WR corps of Sidney Rice and Golden Tate needs to improve too, with one of them finally coming out as the top WR threat for Russell Wilson.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with 5 things he is watching out for this year at Mariners spring training. Cactus League play is under a month away, and pitchers and catchers report in less than a week, and this year the M’s have a lot of question marks heading in. The outfield, first base, and the handling of Mike Zunino top the things to watch for in 2013 Mariners camp.
NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with his top 5 moments in Mariners history, Ken Griffey Jr. edition. With the Mariners announcement this winter that they will add Junior to the Mariners Hall of Fame in August, this is the perfect time to take a look back on some of the memories that made that journey a reality for Ken Griffey Jr. From his daredevil style catches, to the back to back home runs with his dad, Junior did it all for the Mariners in a time when the franchise needed a savior the most.
