My oh My! Top play of the week for the Seattle Mariners (video)

Dustin Ackley

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the fifth week of the year had to be the all around play of the Mariners for the week. The M’s took 4 out of 6 games, en route to a series win against both the Orioles and Blue Jays. Welcome back Michael Saunders, great pitching, a triple by Jesus Montero, a slam by Dustin Ackley, and Jason Bay is hitting the ball well. A great week by our Mariners all around.

Seahawks vs. Mariners: Who really holds our heart?

12th Man Flag Space Needle

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell brings us a special piece about the difference between the Mariners and the Seahawks. History shows us that teams get more fan support when they win, but even if defeat, the Seahawks fan base has been much more supportive than the Mariners. I give the ownership’s of these two teams credit for that. The Seahawks ownership is always moving forward, while the Mariners ownership seems content on being a lousy team.

Let's hope for some more Morse mashes against the Angels.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the fourth week of the year had to be the go-ahead homer by Michael Morse. Morse followed fellow outfielder Jason Bay for the second home run on the day for the Mariners. This one was the deciding factor in the much anticipated return of former Mariners Jason Vargas. The Marines won the game, and the series, their first series win of the year.

Felix gets win number 100 in Houston on Monday night

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the third week of the year had to be Felix Hernandez finally getting his 100th career win against the Houston Astros. What a difference. The Mariners scored as many runs in three innings tonight as they did in three games up in Arlington. Felix finally gets to the century mark, and the M’s unleashed the bats for 7 runs.

Felix Hernandez

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the second week of the year had to be Felix Hernandez striking out David Murphy for the 1,500th strikeout of his career. We are now on to milestone watch number two for Felix, his 100th win. The strikeout plateau is nice, but this game boils down to wins, and Felix’s next will be number 100. But until then, let us bask in the glory of Felix for a moment, and hope this season bring a lot more wins and strikeouts for the man.

Morse and Saunders out, who steps up for the Mariners?

Raul Ibanez Seattle Mariners

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell is here to ask the question; who will step up with both Michael Saunders, and Michael Morse out for the Mariners? Of course the obvious choices are Jason Bay, and Raul Ibanez. But the Mariners actually want to win games don’t they? The numbers lost with the Mikes far out numbers what we get in return with the two veteran replacements. Not to mention the rest of the team seems to be afraid of the ball with runners in scoring position.

NWSB Insider and Seattle Mariners blogger Clinton Bell tells us to him the best “MY oh MY” play of the first week of the year had to be the two homerun performance of Mariners OF, Michael Morse. Morse went deep in the 3rd, and 9th innings, en route to a 4 RBI game, and his first two homeruns on the year. A free agent signing that already seems to be paying off for Jack Z and the M’s

Jesus Montero, Justin Smoak, Blake Beavan, Raul Ibanez, and Michael Morse are all going to have to step it up this season. Three of the five are fighting for survival in a M’s uniform, and the other two are going to have to prove they are worthy enough to don one once again. These five guys may make or break Jack Z as the GM in Seattle.

Weighing in on prospective Seahawks 2013 NFL draft picks

Tyler Eifert

Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with the top needs, in his opinion, that the Seahawks need to address in the upcoming NFL Draft. The top needs, says Clinton, are TE, OT, OG, and OLB. He gives us two selections per each position, and where he thinks the Seahawks will select them in the draft. Also, he has a wishful thinking selection, but it is highly unlikely that this player will drop far enough in the draft for the Hawks to actually select him.
