*My* Staples Center experience as a Portland Trail Blazers fan

Portland Trail Blazers, Staples Center

NWSB Editor Bryant Knox gives us an exclusive look at what it’s like to witness a Portland Trail Blazers vs. Los Angeles Lakers game live at the Staples Center in L.A. The game itself couldn’t have been any better. LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard took over and won a close one despite a comeback from Pau Gasol, Xavier Henry and the Lake Show. The Staples experience is full of trash talk and super Lakers fans, but all in all, it’s a good place to visit — especially when Rip City comes away with a win.

The 2013 Civil War: “Must Watch” TV

Sean Mannion and Marcus Mariota should combine for one heck of a showdown,

NWSB Editor Bryant Knox previews the 2013 Civil War between the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers and explains why it is must-watch TV. At this point in the college football season, neither UO nor OSU is where they wanted to be. This game is about bragging rights, but it’s also about salvaging the year. Having players like De’Anthony Thomas, Marcus Mariota, Sean Mannion, Brandin Cooks, Byron Marshall and Thomas Tyner on the field doesn’t hurt, either.

This past week, the team went 2-1, losing to the Houston Rockets and defeating the Sacramento Kings twice. Throughout the week, Stotts did a good job of preaching defense behind the scenes. That said, he must find a way to get the team, including Robin Lopez and LaMarcus Aldridge, to defend the paint. Up and coming is a relatively easy schedule, but Wesley Matthew, Damian Lillard and crew have yet to play a close game…
