NWSB Insider and BC Lions blogger Phil Slater is here to give us his rendition of the BC Lions coaching staff report cards. Phil was quite generous actually, giving out a few A’s to the Leo’s coach’s. The biggest and brightest A of them all though goes to head coach Mike Benevides for the job he did with the Lions all season long. If not for two games against Calgary, the Lions could’ve been the team hoisting the Cup in 2012.

NWSB Insider and Portland Trail Blazers blogger Jon Irwin gives some insight on rookie sensation Damian Lillard’s quirky phobia of statues. But not just any statues, but statues of historical figures. With the Blazers paying visit to the Washington Wizards, it must have been a trying day for Lillard.
Bryant Knox previews the Portland Trail Blazers Nov. 23 matchup with the Boston Celtics. Coming off three straight losses, including a loss to the only winless team in the NBA, Portland now travels to Boston to take on the Celtics in their “first real test” of the current road trip. Nicolas Batum and Paul Pierce make up the key matchup in this one, but if LaMarcus Aldridge and Kevin Garnett face off, it will be full of energy and bad blood. Rajon Rondo has been suspended for the contest.
NWSB Fantasy Football Insider and part time Seahawks blogger Dave B. delivers to us his Week 13 NFL fantasy football forecast for the Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears. Dave says to as always to roll with Marshawn Lynch. Teams that rely on the run have done surprisingly well against Chicago as of late – Minnesota, Houston, Tennessee and San Francisco have all found a little success he says. Start the Seahawks defense as well.
NWSB Insider Steve Lee talks about Oregon’s early success on the basketball court this season. Currently sitting fourth in the PAC12 standings, the Ducks, who during the preseason were predicted by many (including myself) to sit in the bottom half of the division standings and hold a NIT ticket are making a push for the Big Dance. Damyean Dotson, E.J. Singler, and Carlos Emory have looked great.
NWSB Editor and Insider Chris Anderson recaps what was Oregon’s 2012 college football regular season. The Ducks made their way to an 11-1 record fairly easily. They vanquished most of their opponents by the third quarter and only had close contests against USC and Stanford, one of which they lost. Their offense did not skip a beat with Marcus Mariota at the helm and De’Anthony Thomas and Kenjon Barner in the backfield.
Seattle Seahawks blogger Clinton Bell weighs in with another instalment of the Seahawks Week That Was. Intended to be a fun column, with lots of laughs and other good stuff. Normally it will be a top 10 list, a la David Letterman style. A record setting day by Leon Washington, and an almost record setting day by Russell Wilson were foiled by a last second Dan Carpenter FG as the Miami Dolphins edged out the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday morning.
During any losing week, NWSB Insider and Oregon St. Beavers football blogger Rick Stella will stop by and bring you his What Went Wrong With The Beavs piece. What transpired last Saturday afternoon was 2 and a half quarters of close football, before Oregon began to unload their typical 2nd half offense and pulled away from the Beavers with ease. Finishing off the Beavers by a score of 48-24, the Ducks reigned supreme yet again in the 116th edition of the Civil War football game.
NWSB Insider and Portland Trail Blazers blogger Jon Irwin breaks down the Blazers vs Wizards matchup. The Headline: squaring off with the winless Wizards, Portland continues its East Coast losing streak with this new 82-84 loss. Batum looked like he’s coming out of his slump, and Hickson had a season high 19 rebounds. But with four games left on the roadtrip, Portland needs to find some wins.
NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger Kevin “the Flying V” Vanstone weighs in with another lockout post today. This time he’s telling us that the fans aren’t the only ones getting sick and tired of the latest installment of the Lockout. Cory Scheider is taking his talents to Switzerland, where he will be tending goal for Ambri Piotta of the Swiss National League A.
NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger Mitch Dyck reports today on the news that has surfaced about netminder Cory Schneider. He is in Switzerland and “ready to go” according to his agent Mike Liut. Early on in the lockout Schneider wasn’t sure about playing overseas and getting used to the larger ice surface, but with no end for the lockout in sight, it was time to make a decision.
Free NFL Betting Odds & Picks for the Seattle Seahawks vs. Miami Dolphins week 13 matchup. The Seahawks are a 4 point road underdog. The over/under is 37.5. Dave reminds us the Seattle Seahawks are a pretty bad road team – 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS so far this year but they should come out angry against this battered Chicago team. Russell Wilson has been good as of late as has Sidney Rice and the big play man Golden Tate. They’ll test the Bears injured stars.
